Henderson continues to thrive, and sustaining our growth requires attracting a diverse range of businesses. Our city was voted among the best places to live in Nevada. This achievement is partly due to an impressive variety of activities, better than average housing prices, and exceptional pro sports franchises like the Henderson Silver Knights. All of this supports the atmosphere that makes it so desirable to live here.

Despite the pandemic challenges, the economic outlook for this city is strong. Let’s explore Henderson’s booming success and what it means for economic development and job growth.

Are Henderson Businesses Expanding?

Many businesses in Henderson are expanding, which is excellent news for the economy and job market. Henderson offers a pro-business environment that’s much different from tax-ridden California. The median income in Henderson is 19% higher than the national average, which means the community has an economic environment ripe for growth.

Population growth is steady and higher than the national average, which means more businesses are needed to serve the residents. Henderson also has a prime location with access to many major markets across the Southwest. Los Angeles is a few hours away, and cities like Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and San Diego are only a half-day away. Henderson is showing a bright economic and business climate with highly rated schools, a higher-than-average median income, and the continual expansion of companies.

Companies across the board are likely to see increased success in this city. Some of the top industries in town provide business and financial services, life sciences, health care, information technology, and advanced manufacturing. B2B service companies and retail outlets are also likely to see a boom.

Google is investing more than $1.2 billion in Henderson and across the Southern Nevada region. This positions Henderson as an economic powerhouse and a global hub for technology innovation.

Another major force in the city is Haas Automation, which is slated to create a 2.5 million-square-foot factory at the cost of $327 million to bring global manufacturing to Henderson. Not only will this bring top talent and a world-class facility to town, but new opportunities for STEM training in local schools.

Is Job Growth in Henderson Declining?

Job Growth in Henderson is not declining. The entire country suffered a hit to the job market during the pandemic, but Henderson is coming back fast. Job growth in the Las Vegas-Henderson-Paradise metro area has increased by 3.5%, higher than the average across the country.

The influx of manufacturing and technology jobs means that the region is likely to see an explosion of STEM field employment, raising the median income even further and increasing business growth even more. The city’s low taxes and pro-business stance have aided in this growth.

The future of business in Henderson is bright, and I look forward to aiding its continued success along the way. Contact or visit Vote4TrishNash to learn more about my campaign for Henderson City Council Ward 3.
