We’ve preserved a small-town vibe throughout, encouraging small businesses to thrive and residents to have much to enjoy in our town. Tourists and locals alike can take advantage of our historic Water Street District’s countless services and events or play a round of golf at one of our superb golf courses. I love that we have been named one of the most veteran-friendly cities in the nation’s most veteran-friendly state.
You can’t talk about Henderson without talking about the Henderson Silver Knights. Our minor-league hockey team affiliate allows our residents to watch pros play without the cost of an NHL ticket.
Of course, you can also catch an NHL, Vegas Golden Knights game if you want. We also have access to a number of major Vegas sports franchises like the WNBA basketball team, Las Vegas Aces, and Las Vegas Aviators. If football is more your thing, don’t miss a game featuring the Las Vegas Raiders!
Among the Safest Cities
According to SafeWise, Henderson is one of the safest cities in America and Nevada. Our property crime rate only measures at 17.5 incidences per 1,000 people, and our violent crime rate at 1.7. These figures are lower than the national average and considerably lower locally. We are also one of only three cities with a lower property crime rate than the national average.
If you’re looking for a bit of fun, Henderson is a hit! Our local attractions are plentiful. Here are just a few to get you started.

We have superb education options for our kids in Henderson. We are currently part of the Clark County School District; however, Henderson schools are rated very high and perform remarkably better than the rest of CCSD. Kids have access to multiple, top-rated charter schools, and we are home to our own campus for the College of Southern Nevada and the main campus of Nevada State College.
Let’s Keep Going!
It’s not enough to rest on our laurels. We have to kick up our education efforts and support our teachers, schools and students. We need to attract a more diverse range of businesses, and keep our economy growing along with our population.
In order to preserve what we have built, Henderson has to continue its commitment to public safety, and fiscal responsibility. Most importantly, we need to respect and hear the needs of our veterans. This is why I am committed to keeping Henderson a small town with Big Wins in our future. If you agree, I would appreciate you letting others know about me too! Go to Vote4TrishNash to learn more.
